Poor Clare
by Chiara Atik
It’s AD 1211, and eighteen-year-old Clare lives with her family in Assisi. They live comfortably, but they’re not, like, rich, you know? She’s happy enough until she meets this guy Francis who is like, against the idea of rich people and poor people? Which is weird – like, what does that even mean? And he’s started this bizarre ministry without getting any kind of permission from anybody, and the bishop is not at all happy with him. Nobody is, really.
But what if he’s right?
runs May 29 - June 20.
On June 6 & 14, we’re hosting “table work,” an opportunity to talk about the show - tap on one of those performances to learn more!
